A public research university located in the South West of England. First place in Russel Group for satisfaction. The Sunday Times in 2012 named Exeter 'Sunday Times University of the Year 2012/13. Ranked 5th in the UK for biosciences.


University of Exeter Annual Fund


The Annual Fund is the University's annual appeal which seeks the philanthropic support of its alumni and friends to invest in the University and its students.


BBSRC

They are one of 7 Research Councils that work together as Research Councils UK (RCUK). They are funded by the Government's Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).

Their budget for 2013-14 is around £484M, and they support around 1600 scientists and 2000 research students in universities and institutes across the UK.


Exeter Microbial Biofuels Group

They are an innovative research programme studying plant cell signalling and bioenergy. They employ a multidisciplinary combination of high throughput molecular biology, cellular imaging, biochemistry, bioinfomatics and synthetic biology.


Welcome Trust

Their funding supports the brightest minds in biomedical research and the medical humanities, with the aim of improving human and animal health. They offer a wide variety of funding schemes, including Investigator Awards, fellowships and Strategic Awards. They also support several major research initiatives.


Society for General Microbiology

The Society for General Microbiology aims to promote a better understanding of microbiology and highlight the important role of microbiologists to parliamentarians, opinion-formers and policy-makers.


Biochemical Society

The Biochemical Society exists for the advancement of the molecular and cellular biosciences, both as an academic discipline and to promote its impact on areas of science including biotechnology, agriculture, and medicine.

Biochemistry helps to play a key role in tackling global issues such as improving lifelong health, treatment of disease, biotechnology and food security. We achieve our mission though our publications and journals, scientific meetings, educational activities, policy work, awards and grants to scientists and students.
