Anna Schechtel - Chip Queen
Biology (M.Sc. student)
I already completed my undergrad degree in biology at the RWTH Aachen University. I wrote my bachelor thesis on 'Mechanism of inflammatory regulation by GLP-1' at RWTH Aachen Teaching Hospital. Additionally, I worked as student assistant supervising a practical course for biology bachelor students at RWTH Aachen University.
I'm happy to work in a team with students from different study paths. I hope that I can learn from and with them, so that together we can create something special for the iGEM competition. In my free time, I like to dance ballet and standard, read books and meet friends for a cup of tea.
For the iGEM project I was part of the lab team. The most time I worked on the sensor chips. Therefor I worked together with the 'computer guys' and learned a lot of technical stuff. In addition, I did much measurement and learned different lab methods like cloning, PCR or sequencing analysis.
In the end the most important is, that we had a lot of fun together and made a cool project.
