What facinates me about the iGEM the most, is the chance of designing and realising such an enormous project, autonomously. As Co-founder of our team I am really glad, that we have established such a diverse team, together exploring synthetic biology as a promising, novel field of reasearch.

Great potential to learn not only new biotechnological techniques and methods, but also get to know and gain experience a lot of areas such as in engineering, public relations and fundraising.

Since the iGEM is my first chance for an independent application of , he’s eager to learn and apply these as well as

Moreover, he looks forward to be part of an interdisciplinary team and to experience the challenges of participating in an international competition.

In his spare time, René likes to do sports such as cycling, swimming or going to the gym, but he won't deny a good book either.
