Juan José Quispe Haro
Nickname: El chuchas
Description: Juanjo is 6th semester Biotechonology Engennering student at ITESM Campus Querétaro. He is one of the most enthusiastic people in the team, he plays the music for the mood to work, he is always on time in the lab and his body is shouting for salsa music at any time. He is known as the “chucha” because it’s his favorite word. He is the only foreign member of the team!
Team role: In charge of the mathematical model design (he never wants to work on it). The official cooker of the team.
Special abilities: Takes ridiculous pictures of every single one of the members in the team (has his own backup for that). His hair has the ability to growth exponentially.

Juan Noé Hernández Salazar
Nickname: Mario's Best Friend
Description: Noé is a 5th semester Biotechnology Engineering student at ITESM Campus Querétaro. One of his most outstanding characteristics is that he is very sociable, and has a special facility at connecting with people. He is the counterpart of Linda because he is a major lover of motorbikes and is always talking about them and riding his own when he is at his town. He is a big animal lover and has a special soft spot for dogs. He told us once that when he was in middle school his nickname was Messi, that’s why we adapted it to fit better his currently reality.
Team role: Secretary of the group.
Special abilities: He is like a little old man because he’s constantly taking pictures of everything with his iPad

Mariana Guadalupe Guerrero Osornio
Nickname: La Lupe Greñas
Description: Mariana is a 7th semester Biotechnology Engineering student at ITESM Campus Querétaro. Her main characteristic is her love for Queen and Freddie Mercury. She is constantly joking around the lab and singing love songs (but if you ask, she will completely deny it). Her food pyramid consist basically in rammen, hot dogs and “micheladas”. She does not like celebrities a lot but loves scientists.
Team role: Vice president of the Synthetic Biology Group
Special abilities: Jump by semi open windows. Given the adequate conditions, she can see the sounds. Official sport enthusiast of the team.

Jaime Antonio del Castillo Núñez
Nickname: Jimmy “El entradas” (Ask him if he went to the movies already)
Description: Jaime is a 7th semester Biotechnology Engineering student at ITESM Campus Querétaro. From unknown origins, it is believed that it was a gift to the humanity from an ancient ninja clan, which explains his love for the martial arts and weapons. His natural environment is the laboratory or his living room, where he spends most of his time defeating people around the world in League of Legends. If he were a Pokemon, he would be Sceptile

Claudia Elena Hernández Castillo
Nickname: The cat’s lady
Description: Clau is a 7th semester Biotechnology Engineering student at ITESM Campus Querétaro. She is the most artistically talented members of the team; evidence of this is the awesome design of this wiki. She speaks Spanish, English, French and HTML. When she is not working, she is on YouTube watching cute cat videos. Her favorite flowers are the Tulips.
Team role: Publicity coordinator of the team.
Special abilities: Draw Mexican wrestlers and dance ¡PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!

Alicia Gabriela Quiroz Rocha
Nickname: Tía Licha, Mamma Gaby
Description: Gaby is a 7th semester Biotechnology Engineering student at ITESM Campus Querétaro. She is one of the first members of the Synthetic Biology group, and one of the most passionate too. In her free time, she loves to read Murakami, watch French movies and browse the Internet for new knowledge. Her favorite season is winter and her best friend is Mariana. It is possible to find in her natural habitat if you walk around the smoker’s zone of the campus.
Team role: Laboratory coordinator and former President of the team.
Special abilities: Start intense arguments and discussions after midnight. Be the official bossy of the team.

Bryan Campos Cruz
Nickname: El Brallan
Description: Bryan is a 9th semester Biotechnology Engineering student at ITESM Campus Querétaro. No one knows how, where or when he started to be a part of the team, but everyone assumes he has been around since the beginning of time, he was even nominated for the “Archea Award” of the Students Society, prize granted to the oldest student of the career.
Team role: Sponsorships coordinator.
Special abilities: Taking pictures of Gaby when she is distracted in class.

Linda Alejandra Salas Meza
Nickname: Bicycle girl
Description: Linda is a 7th semester Biotechnology Engineering student at ITESM Campus Querétaro. She is the most honest people we have ever met and also one of the happiest. When it comes to ecology, she is also one of the most environmentaly responsible, and her way to demonstrate it is by riding her bicycle every day from her house to the campus. She loves ice cream and asian food, but has mixed feelings when it’s about Gaby´s favorite Chinese place.
Team role: Humanities coordinator

Uriel Eleazar Barboza Pérez
Nickname: Uriel
Description: Uriel is a 5th semester Biotechnology Engineering student at ITESM Campus Querétaro. If you believe in reincarnation, in his last life he must have been a black rap singer. He is one of the funniest guys around and is always making everybody laugh. He combines both the good and the bad of a student life: he is bossy but messy, loves theater and reggae songs, he is very active but most of the time he is sick. He loves to eat, like, a lot.
Team role: Colaborator since January, 2014.
Special abilities: Overcome everybody at eating, drinking and dancing rap songs.

Dalia Ximena Tavera Guerrero
Nickname: The girl of the gels
Description: Dalia is a 5th semester Biotechnology Engineering student at ITESM Campus Querétaro. She is one of the youngest members of the team. She is full of hope and joy and always is raising the spirits in the lab. Since she is the most tender member of the group, everybody is forbidden to make her upset or feel bad. Every time she is in the lab she is ready to learn something new. She thinks that, if she could be a tree, she will be a Jacaranda.
Team role: Logistic coordinator of the team.
Special abilities: She has the power to prevent bad moods and fights.

About me: I work as Director and Research Professor at the department of Biotechnology of Tecnologico de Monterrey, Queretaro Campus, Mexico.I just love science and, naturally, I'm curious to why, how and what. I consider myself creative, dynamic, responsible, hardworking and a person with high ambitions. I am fond of ecotourism, adventure and music. I love fishing, driving and playing volleyball and cricket.
