This year, our frontier project issue attacks me a lot. I have great passion on it! To learn more about me, please visit my personal website http://xueeinstein.me.

Zhao Caiwen

I’m a junior student and I major in BME. This is my first time to join an iGEM team, I really enjoy working with so many excellent people! In our team, I’m responsible for material translation, human practice and other scattered matters.

Luo Fuya

I’m a junior and I major in brainwave signal processing. I’m good at data processing and image analysis. I have taken part in Math Model Competition and Challenge Cup Competition before. This year, I designed the scoring algorithm, the function of the software and database table, etc.

Zhao Yi

This is my second year in School of Information and Software Engineering. In the spare time, I like playing video games just like DotA2. Beef and chicken is my favourite food! In our team, I did algorithm implementation, database design and maintenance.

Ellen Tong

I'm a girl from Guangdong, China. This is my second year at UESTC. My major is Software Engineering. I love books and art. I joined iGEM as wiki designer and developer, and feels happy to join the world-wide competition as well as enjoys making many new friends. I am trying to be a Prodect Manager. My blog is here http://Ellentong.tk.

Wu Yaoming

I’m good at C/C++ and python programming while I have great interest in digital image processing and analysis. Before iGEM, I have studied about a license plate recognition system. Besides, I like delving into all kinds of interesting algorithm. I’m in charge of developing the background in our team.

Shawn Chan

I’m fond of Internet technology and I am determined to be a senior product manager. I like chatting with strangers, trying new things and taking adventure. In our team, I’m in charge of propaganda work and UI designing of the software.

Instructors

Huang Jian

Jian Huang holds M.D. degree with experience in medicine, basic immunology and bioinformatics from the West China University of Medical Sciences and the Kyoto University. His studies focus on the molecular aspects of antigens, antibodies and peptide aptamers. His work has resulted in the development of a few immunological databases and web programs which have become to be important tools and data resources for both computational biologists and experimental biologists, especially those using phage display technology. Dr. Huang has also been an Editorial Board Member for several peer-reviewed journals such as Scientific Reports.

Guo Fengbiao

Feng-Biao Guo finished his doctorial study in TianJin University in February 2006. Now he is a full professor and Ph.D. supervisor of Bioinformatics at UESTC. His research interests currently focus on computational, comparative, evolutionary and functional genomics of microbes. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers in international journals. ZCURVE 1.0, which is one of the softwares developed by him, has been used in about 100 laboratories or institutes all over the world. In 2012 has selected into the project of the new century excellent talents of Education Ministry and earned the Young Teachers of Henry Fok Educational Foundation.

Lin Hao

He received his Ph.D. in Biophysics from Inner Mongolia University. He achieved the New Scholar award of UESTC and the Science and Technology Progress award of Sichuan. His published papers have over 1,000 cites. Now he is the member of Center of Bioinformatics and the Key Laboratory for NeuroInformation of Ministry of Education in UESTC.

Academic Support

We’d like to express our gratitude to Dr. Feng Zhang, his previous study and papers really inspired us.

A special thanks to CRISPR-P, we have learned a lot from this software.

Support from Friends

Special thanks to Yuning Gu, Zhiyi Li and Jiao Li for taking group picture and work photos for us, to Tiantian Gao for making wonderful gifs to help us presenting our project, to Zhihui Peng who had to leave our team halfway for some reasons for making amazing homemade mobile phone microscopes.

Others

During the whole prepare phase, we had regular meetings to discuss and deal with problems. All project has been independently presented by the entire UESTC-Software iGEM team including student members and instructors. We completed all work such as modeling, programming, document writing, validation, wiki implementing, art design and human practice on our own.
