Department of biotechnology

Our iGEM team is kindly hosted inside the department of biotechnology. Also, several members of this department helped in reaching the end goal of our project.

  • Prof.dr. Gijs Kuenen provided us with the theoretical aspects of carbon metabolism
  • Prof.dr. Fred Hagen for guiding us in setting up the potentiostat
  • Dr. Linda Otten for her help and training on the plate reader machine
  • Mrs. Elena Kulevic from the financial department helped us with taking care of the administrative procedures for funding and creating invoices

Bionanoscience department

  • Mr. Daniel Lam provided us with microscop training
  • Núria Taberner Carretero for tutoring us on how to use the Confocal Microscope and advising on the sample preparation

ChemE department

  • Mr. Jos van Driel, tehnical specialist helped us with setting the device for the curli resistance measurements and borrowed us a desktop that accepts the PXI system

  • Dr. Sylvestre Bonnet, assistant professor (tenure track) for giving us knowledge on metals and diversity of aspects of redox reactions

Rotterdam University

Experts

  • Mr. Jos van Winsen, chairman of the Safety committee of Applied Sciences Faculty of Delft University of Technology for raising awareness among students on the possible risks that the project could represent and for making sure that the proper health measurements would be undertaken.
