The suffering patients have a mutated FMO3 gene, and TMA is excreted in sweat, saliva and urine, causing a strong fish odor.

AIMS

tmm trimethylamine monooxygenase) gene is a bacterial gene found in the bacteria Ruegeria pomeroyi and is similar to the human FMO3 gene. The aim of this project is to clone this gene in a becteria of the skin and to incorporate the new strain in a cosmetic in order to cure fish odor.
