Motility Parts Collection

The motility parts collection is the culmination of our work on bacterial motility genes - MotA, MotB and FliC. Our project plan required that, for the bacteria to float, these genes would need switched off. Therefore, work had to be done to:

  • Knock out the genes from the bacteria
  • Be able to recover the motility
  • Make the parts suitable for placement on one side of the recombinase switch
