Team Information

The Gothenburg team is currently working in the Systems and Synthetic Biology group, in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology. This group has a central role in the Life Science Engineering, one of the eight Chalmers’ areas of advance.

With a multidisciplinary approach, this area combines the expertise of different departments such as Chemical and Biological Engineering, Mathematical Science and Applied Physics to study fundamentals and provide engineering solutions to the Life Science sector, including health care, the food industry, and the biotech industry.

The Gothenburg team reflects the diversity of the iGEM competition; from the total of 10 team members, 5 of us are not Swedish, with different nationalities such as Brazilian and Indian. We are all students at Chalmers, mostly at undergraduate level. This project offers an unique opportunity for all of us: working in our own project in a promising field of study, while learning from our supervisors.
