Prof. Yunjun Yan is a professor and principle investigator of College of Life Sci. & Tech., Huazhong University of Sci.&Tech.. He got his PhD degree at Chinese Academy of Sciences.
His research covers three areas: Firstly, biotechnology for biomass energy, mainly focusing on key technologies for biodiesel production, Secondly, lipase engineering, mainly focusing on genetic engineering, protein engineering, fermentation engineering, and enzyme immobilization of lipases, and its application in biodiesel, health care products and pharmaceuticals, resolution of chiral drugs and organic synthesis, etc. Thirdly, aquatic ecology, mainly focusing on productivity ecology of aquatic ecosystems, bioenergetics and its dynamics in rivers and streams.
Prof. Yu Xue is a professor and principle investigator of College of Life Sci. & Tech., Huazhong University of Sci.&Tech.. He got his PhD degree at Universtiy of Sci. and Tech. of China.
Xue’s lab is interested in computational studies of post-translational modifications (PTMs), including phosphorylation, sumoylation and palmitoylation, etc. The genetic basis and influence of PTMs, modification dependent binding domain/motifs, and PTMs regulating cellular pathways and networks are also paid attention.

This is the first time that I participate in the iGEM competition and this is definitely part of the most impressive experience in my life. iGEM speeded up my growth, forced me to know about my own limits and most importantly, motivated me to keep pursuing better and more interesting goals.
With the development of industry, copper is in increasingly great demand in our society, thus many countries are raising the production to meet the demands. [1] However, copper smelting, processing and electroplating and other industrial production processes produce a lot of sewage containing copper ion and some other contaminants, such as cyanide and fluoride. Pollutants of different sources of wastewater are listed in table 1. Copper ion, cyanide and fluoride are marked in red to highlight the severity of these three pollutants.
