Today was a day with a lot of debate! Unfortunately our transformation did not work once again. We had doubts, because the negative control was growing, we have come to a conclusion on what the problem might be:

I) A mutation in Escherichia coli RR1 that makes it resistant to chloranphenicol;

II) Chloranphenicol in our lab is contaminated.
