TeamThe Brasil-SP team gathers three of the best Brazilian universities. Undergraduate, postgraduate students and professors of University of São Paulo (USP), Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) and São Paulo State University (UNESP) joined to form a unique team. The team is composed of students from several backgrounds, but mostly physicists and biologists. |

| Brenda Clara MoreiraFederal University of São Carlos/UFSCar At first sight, Brenda is apparently introverted, but in reality she is full of skills - she was the protagonists of our crowndfunding video. She actively participated in efforts to raise funds to enable us enter the competition as well as during the stages of formation and consolidation of the Brasil-SP team and project design.

| Camila BramorskiUniversity of São Paulo/USP She gives helps in many areas of the project but mainly with the financials and with the wiki webdesign and construction. She is responsible for recording the weekly group reunion and for making some jokes.

| Danilo Keiji ZampronioUniversity of São Paulo/USP Wet lab slave. Working on the assemblies and experimental strategies with enthusiasm. Also participated in the wiki, presentation and poster construction and design. And more importantly, he was responsable for receiving the boxes he loves so much.

| Guilherme Engelberto KundlatschFederal University of São Carlos/UFSCar He is working at Biology Molecular lab with our circuit construction and characterization and at Microbiology lab studying our chassis. His great capacity of thinking in new outlandish ideas helps us with our project. Directly from a cold land, he is a boy as young as synthetic biology. Better known as Yoshi, he is carrying our team to give 1 UP in iGEM.

| Jonathan Ballico de MoraesFederal University of São Carlos/UFSCar He is working in the Microbiology and Molecular Biology lab. Our star at Dodgeball Biotechnology Team. Never miss the target, with a ball or a pipette. With his foresaw abilities, he can see our kidney sensing winning the iGEM competition.

| Luciano Zane FilhoFederal University of São Carlos/UFSCar Luciano is best known as "Dode", a nickname from a wonderful sweet made with milk, but he looks more like a mad scientist. We have an Einstein on our team working on Microbiology and Molecular Biology wet lab.

| Mariana TrevisanFederal University of São Carlos/UFSCar Mariana is working in Molecular Biology with lab circuit construction and supporting experiments at Microbiology lab. She hates tidying her bedroom, preferring to devote all her time to study and practice synthetic biology.

| Matheus Pedrino GonçalvesFederal University of São Carlos/UFSCar He's working in Microbiology, with the determination of sporulation and characterization, and Molecular Biology wet lab. He's always organizing our tasks and handling the financial part. He does some magic to help us out, after all, he's our Harry Potter!

| Monique Gasparoto FreitasUniversity of São Paulo/USP Monique holds a degree in Physical and Biomolecular Sciences and is a huge iGEM enthusiast. She had a blast participating on iGEM in 2012 and now is helping out the Brasil-SP team to take the best out of this experience!

| Bruno OnoUniversity of São Paulo/USP Bruno is also known as Kuririn, but, as far as we know, he is not looking for any Dragon Ball. Now he works with Photodynamic Therapy in Biophotonics laboratory at São Carlos Institute of Physics - USP.

| Célio Dias Santos JúniorFederal University of São Carlos He's working to introduce some freshmen to hard job on Molecular Biology lab, sometimes is good have someone to do those boring research steps. His work focus in enzymes optimization, with bench approaches to directed in vitro evolution of an aromatic amino acid ammonia-lyase derived from an in silico metagenome and consensus sequences chimerization process, through DNA shuffling and also error-prone PCR.

| Fernando Takeshi TanouyeUniversity of São Paulo/USP Participant of the modeling trio, together with André and Pedrão. Enjoys playing science and do cool things with others, like iGem. Currently studies folding of ideal triangular proteins that exists only in his imagination.

| Laís Canniatti BrazacaUniversity of São Paulo/USP She currently works in the Nanomedicine and Nanotoxicology group developing biosensors for medical applications. Her main contribution to our project was in the biosafety and characterization areas.

| Laís RibovskiUniversity of São Paulo/USP A team leader, it is unbelievable the amount of things she can do in a short time. She carried out the characterization experiments, all kinds of bureaucracies, sponsorships, wiki programming and also has been working on biosensor development for medical and environmental purposes at Nanomedicine and Nanotoxicology Group (GNano) in her masters.

| Pedro Henrique Moreira PessoaUniversity of Sao Paulo/USP Started his scientific career studying Statistical Mechanics Models in Psychology and Sociology. Pedro is currently getting his PhD in Albany.

| Raissa Ferreira GutierrezUniversity of São Paulo/USP She works together with Danilo in the Molecular Biology Lab to optimize and perform the biobricks assemblies and also helped in the elaboration of poster, presentation and a little bit of wiki. Currently, she is studying a protein involved in the ribosome biogenesis. She is always happy with a smile on her face.

| Ana Paula Ulian de AraújoUniversity of São Paulo/USP She is an expert in Biomolecular Sciences and her main area of research is the human septins. Also teaches Molecular and Cellular Biology to undergraduate courses at University of São Paulo. She is very excited in supervising our iGEM project.

| Cleslei Fernando ZanelliState University of São Paulo/UNESP Although Cleslei looks like a Hollywood pop star, he is actually a Professor. He is currently working in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology fields, with emphasis in metabolism of mRNA and translational control of gene expression using yeast as biological model.

He has experience mainly in areas such as structural biology using crystallographic techniques and molecular modeling. He is also a member of the Sao Paulo State Science Academy and the Brazilian Science Academy.

| Prof. Dr. Valtencir ZucolottoUniversity of São Paulo/USP Professor Zucolotto – nickname: Xuxa - is one of the most famous advisors at IFSC-USP. Currently, Prof Zucolotto works in the development of nanomaterials and biosensors for diagnosis and therapy and also investigates the toxic effects of nanocomposites against living cells and tissues. Dr Zucolotto kindly provided the infrastructure of the Nanomedicine and Nanotoxicology group for our characterization experiments.
