Bandage
Our project is not just a genetic construct. A bandage is needed to house our bacteria, and to use them safely on a wound.
Detection
The adapted Lactococcus lactis can recognize quorum sensing molecules of Staphylococcus Aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Secretion
Upon detection, L. lactis should produce a whole host of molecules to kill the infecting bacteria.
Toolbox
We made a toolbox for Lactococcus lactis so future teams can easily work with it.
