Risk evaluation of the e. Coli bacteria modified with genes of fluorescence
Biosecurity
Good security practices (GSP) were taken of a publishing of the worldwide health organization (WHO) titled “Biosecurity manual in the lab” in the 2005 and adapted to the practice made. This guaranteed the entire safety of the staff members that worked in the modification and testing of the bacteria. It is important to mention that although the organism does not represent a biologic risk, for the development of this Project it was necessary to operate under a biosecurity level 2 with the intention of learning how to apply better the GSP. In order to achieve this objective the practice was based in 4 fundamental axes of biosecurity.
- Access restricted to people not authorized.
- Personal protection equipment team manages the instruments in the lab.
- Biocontention mechanisms.
- Final disposal methods.
