Timeline

01 July 2014
After a weekend off to recover from the end of term we hit the ground running for iGEM 2014 by setting up the lab and undertaking a pipetting course. This set us up for our first of many intensive brainstorming sessions.

In order to expand the scope of our brainstorming we met up with students from the RCA to hear their ideas about Synthetic Biology and collaborated with them to come up with new ideas.

After over two weeks of brainstorming and developing ideas we presented our favourites to our supervisors. After a nerve-wracking feedback session we decided on our project.

Our first outreach session introduced synthetic biology to year 10 students.

Our second outreach session focussed on showing Year 12 students how mathematics related to biology through the use of modelling software.
