| - | <p>The Oxford Society of Synthetic Biology (SynOx) is an initiative led by Oxford postgraduates. Their aim is to develop a synthetic biology community across the university and to increase the reputation of this discipline.

| - | SynOx was therefore pleased to hear that this year, the University of Oxford will (finally) participate in iGEM. Our team has been offered help and support early on by Synox and we were very grateful that they asked us to join them in organising Randy Rettberg’s visit and the UK iGEM meet-up. SynOx also has agreed to help future iGEM teams, ensuring that iGEM will become a continued tradition at Oxford.</p>

| - | <p>Again Skyped with the Sheffield iGEM team. Today discussed the particulars of the modelling and what information we need to exchange so that we can help each other. A second big topic was the human practices side of things; we're both doing some sort of water treatment, albeit treating substances of very different toxicities that are released into the water network in very different quantities.</p>

| - | <p> Skyped with Sheffield iGEM team. Chatted about progress that we've been making and how we could help each other's project. Talked about modelling and realised that we could help them with the stochastic side of things. Then discussed how we could help them characterise their parts using FCS. (3/8/15).</p>
