Introducing the instructors!
Louise Brown is an academic at Macquarie University, and a keen advocate of the undergraduate research experience, promoting the annual Macquarie iGEM efforts.
Robert Willows is an academic at Macquarie University and a celebrated figure in the field of chlorophyll biosynthesis research. He enjoys PCR and playing squash.
Professor Packer is an academic at Macquarie University, and her research mainly focusses on glycosylation of proteins. Prof Packer expertly led our fundraising efforts and helped the team with valuable advice on a range of matters.
Professor Paulsen’s research focuses on using global approaches such as metagenomics and systems biology to investigate microbial physiology and evolution. As our instructor he helped us with advice and expertise on a range of matters.
Introducing the advisors!
Rijata (AKA Rani) aspires to continue further studies in synthetic protein/enzyme biology. She has been making coffee for 4 years at Gloria Jeans and enjoys dancing.
Liz is currently completing MPhil in Biophysics with Dr. Louise Brown. Liz as an adviser has provided us with supportive encouragement and advice.
Mike loves learning about anything and everything, and hopes to spend the rest of his life at universities. He also enjoys smooth jazz.
Dom has an avid interest in molecular biology, synthetic biology and genetic engineering. He intends to pursue a career advancing current scientific research in these fields.
Edward is a PhD student at Macquarie University , who has been actively involved with iGEM for a couple of years. He practically spends all this time in the lab and is close to living in it.
