Team Information

Upload pictures of your team!

You can write a background of your team here. Give us a background of your team, the members, etc. Or tell us more about something of your choosing.

You can look at what other teams did to get some inspiration! Here are a few examples:

We provide a server where you can upload images for your wiki!

Add pictures of your team members, advisors, instructors, lab, institution and everything you wish to show!

Tips for the Team Page

What should this page contain?

  • Include pictures of your teammates, don’t forget instructors and advisors!
  • You can add a small biography or a few words from each team member, tell us what you like, and what motivates to participate in iGEM.
  • Take team pictures! Show us your school, your lab and little bit of your city.
  • Remember that image galleries can help you showcase many pictures while saving space

Meet The Team!

Undergraduates

  • Kevin Pineault (President), Junior, Bioengineering
  • I was attracted to iGEM's innovative approach of inspiring undergraduate students to lead and conduct exciting research in the growing field of synthetic biology. As a student and team member, I joined out of interest to learn about laboratory procedure to create BioBricks, to work towards a humanitarian goal alongside our research efforts, and to develop an awesome research project to combat the decreasing numbers of oysters in our local Chesapeake Bay. My role in the team has been outside the lab, developing/leading meetings and helping every student member work towards there highest potential. I have to give most of the credit the other members on the team for their '''great''' work this summer in the lab and outside the lab visiting oyster farms. I like to slackline when it is nice outside, and I am not afraid to dance in public.
  • Iowis Zhu (Vice President), Sophomore, Biochemistry / Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics Double Major (Statistics Minor)
  • Planning on conducting medical research in the future after going to medical/graduate school. I'm doing iGEM due my desire to create a concrete product that can have an impact on our world. I once memorized the periodic table to commemorate my 8th grade science teacher's retirement, and I haven't forgotten it.
  • Nathan Barber, Junior, Bioengineering
  • Pursuing a graduate degree, then a career in biomedical engineering hopefully management. I'm doing iGem because I'm fascinated with the impact we can make on the world as only college students. Fun fact: I've free climbed a 30 ft cliff outdoors with no ropes or harness.
  • Adip Bhargav, Sophomore, Neurobiology & Physiology
  • I plan on going to medical school after my undergraduate studies. I love tennis.
  • Aditya Biswas
  • Courtney Restivo, Freshman, Bioengineering
  • Planning on going into the bioengineering industry, possibly on the marketing side of things. I'm participating in iGEM because I think it's a good way to extend beyond classes and discover more about the field of genetic engineering. I am excited by the idea of creating something that impacts the community and seeing other groups' discoveries is very motivating. I can juggle a soccer ball over a hundred times.
  • Sampada Koshatwar, Sophomore, Bioengineering
  • Planning on having a career in the bioengineering industry I am part of iGEM because I would really like the research that comes with this competition as well take the opportunity to interact with creative scientists from all over the country and be inspired by the ideas that can come from genetical engineering. I can juggle three arbitrary things solo and five arbitrary things with a partner.
  • Talia Sieff
  • Janine Taira, Freshman, Neurobiology & Physiology
  • I'm planning on going to dental school after my undergraduate degree. I'm participating iGem because I want to have an hands-on experience in the lab, and modifying bacteria for competition seemed like an interesting and unique way to get that experience. It's super cool that in less than a year, we'll have some kind of a product to show for all of our work.
  • Camila Uechi
  • Pavel Alexandrovich Vlasov
  • Ben Woodward
  • Andrew Zhao, Freshman, Bioengineering
  • Graduate or medical school - eventual career in medical research and/or development (device engineering and whatnot) I joined iGEM to get experience in a wet lab where our ultimate goal is to create a working product. The fact that the students are given so much autonomy over the project is also really appealing. One of my hobbies is yo-yoing and I know (only) a handful of tricks - they're simple but they look cool!

Advisors
