We pride ourselves on having an inclusive team with various ages, genders, ethnicities and interests among us.
We want show some of this diversity off in the hopes of encouraging all students to consider research projects like iGEM.

Women in STEM

Team member Lenore Pafford is also President of the UCSC section of the Society of Women Engineers.
She uses this position to encourage women to participate in projects like iGEM.

Community College Participation

Jazel Hernandez came to us from Hartnell Community College in Salinas, California.
Her goal was to participate in our lab and get a feel for research.
She wishes to use her college education to study cancer in humans.
