Tsinghua 2014

Hi, we are Team Tsinghua at iGEM 2014. We are working on a gene therapy for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM).

T1DM results from the autoimmune destruction of insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. We aim to convert somatic cells into insulin-producing cells regulated by blood glucose, and eliminate the need for constant insulin therapy.
