Mizzou's Team is made up of eleven students and four mentoring faculty. This page is intended to host our team information, an abstract of our project, project progress via the Lab Notebook, and much more. You are invited to explore this site and learn more about the project and progress.

The team is very excited to have the opportunity to participate in the iGEM competition and, more importantly, to learn and be submerged in the fast-growing field of synthetic biology. The team is thankful for all of the support from the university, the mentoring professors, and the various other sponsors that have made this experience possible.

Welcome to the University of Missouri's Wiki Page!

In the Spring of 2014, the University of Missouri in Columbia formed its very first competition team for a synthetic biology competition hosted by the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) Foundation, of which is "dedicated to education and competition, advancement of synthetic biology, and the development of open community and collaboration".

The 2014 iGEM Competition currently has 246 teams registered from all around the world, including 82 from Asia and 67 from Europe. Teams work very hard to design and carry out innovative synthetic biology projects over a number of months. Over the last weekend in October, October 30th through November 3rd, teams will have the opportunity to present their work at the Giant Jamboree in Boston, Massachusetts.
