Handbook

This year, the HKUST human practice group made a handbook about the first thing people should know when starting a human practice team. We decided to make this project in mid-August mainly due to the fact that we were lost kind of lost and did not truly understand the objective of human practice, and by the time we realized it, we do not have the time to develop a project that could have a substantial impact. If only we have a clear guidance on taking the first step of starting a human practice project, things would have been much better. Our main focus of making this handbook will be to give a possible pathway for next year iGEM team across the globe to create a meaningful project that could be more notable than previously.

Our handbook consists of a simplified version of the definition and purpose of human practice, some ideas on platform which the human practice team can do in order to deliver their main project, examples of some of the best teams which got the best human practice award and tips and tricks from these award winning teams and judges.

We sincerely hope that our handbook can help future human practice group in helping to create their own path of informing the public about synthetic biology, since it is the essence of human practice. You can download the handbook in PDF format here.
