The city and its surroundings are potentially favorable for the scientific development, which makes many researches eager to come and explore the riches from the region.

We are here to show just a small part of our rich Science in Manaus, home of our team, and we hope you’ll enjoy as much as we did throughout the process.

The UFAM_Brazil team was created in 2012 amidst the excitement generated by professor Carlos Gustavo and made its debut at the iGEM Competition 2013. This year, our team is composed by fifteen high school and undergrad students from the disciplines of biology, biotechnology, design and medicine. Our main objective is to use synthetic biology in order to innovate technologies being applied in the Amazon region, with the ultimate goal of preserving what matters the most: it's biodiversity!
